The Quakertown Farmers Market has
been a Bucks County tradition since its humble beginnings in 1932. Stanley
Rotenberger began the Market as a Saturday produce and general merchandise
auction in an old barn on his Station Road Farm after the Great Depression. As
word spread, local farmers and merchants brought their good to sell inside the
barn, outside on tables and from the backs of their trucks. The Quakertown
Farmers Market was born!
The Market has grown over the years from a small barn to the
latest addition, in 2001, bringing the Main Market Building to the current
173,000 square feet you see today. Our walls are lined with memorabilia from
past events, visits from celebrities and politicians, old ticket stubs,
contests and newspaper articles. The original land deed from the Family of
William Penn is on display next to the Warehouse Outlet.
Now 90 years later, the Market is still here. Growing, adapting,
changing, but always keeping the friendly, family feeling it has always
possessed. 100+ Departments in the Main Building, 2 Indoor Flea Market Barns
and a Huge Flea Market keep the property filled with anything and everything
you can eat, wear or use! Stop by for one of our events, shop for your weekly
groceries, enjoy a meal, race slot cars and add to the memories that make up
the Quakertown Farmers Market.
